This past week we were privileged to have Professor O. Dov Kulka come speak to our students. Kulka has had a successful career as a historian focusing on European Jewry and war-time Germany at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, however it took him 70 years to write his own stories in his recent memoir. Our students were honored to hear Professor Kulka read emotional excerpts from his recent book, landscapes of the Metropolis of Death: Reflections on Memory and Imagination, which recently was awarded the Jewish Quarterly-Wingate book prize.
We were thrilled to have the privilege to meet this great historian, and to welcome him to our program to share his celebrated book with us. We are proud to be able to welcome scholars, such as Professor Kulka, to be a part of our students’ experience in our MA program.
